When I was in my early 20’s I was struggling.  I was dealing with so many different issues that I was overwhelmed.  My Mother, bless her heart, sent me a card and it said…”Remember, When Life Hands You Lemons …Tuck ‘em Inside Your Bra! Couldn’t Hurt, Might Help!”  Of course, it made me laugh. I hung it over my desk at work and looked at it every day.  It was the strength I needed to work my way through the issues I was facing.    Continue reading ““Remember, When Life Hands You Lemons…Tuck ‘em Inside Your Bra! I’m Not Trying to Replace Your Mom

I'm Not Trying to Replace Your Mom

I have said many times that I never expected to get a divorce, nor did I expect that I would remarry and become a Step Mother (in our house Bonus Mom).  But look at me now, getting ready to celebrate my 4th wedding anniversary with the world’s most amazing husband and enjoying every moment I get with my bonus children and they know I’m Not Trying to Replace Your Mom

Book Review of Step One, Step Two, Step Three and Four

I received a reader's copy of this book from the Author for review. I was not compensated for my review and the thoughs and opinions are my own.

Step One, Step Two, Step Three and Four

I was extremely excited when I was asked by author Maria Ashworth to review her book Step One, Step Two, Step Three and Four. Maria is a step mother raising a blended family as well so I knew with that in common this book was going to be an interesting read.

A Quick and Easy Craft Project

As a Mom, whether you are working or staying at home, it is often hard to find time to do craft projects. I don't know about you but I find crafts to be very relaxing after a stressful day. For that reason I look for projects that can easily be broken down in to smaller steps that don’t have to be done at once, or projects that are very quick and easy. A quick and easy craft project that I love is making tile coasters.

Fun Family Craft Night

Let’s have a Fun Family Craft Night

There is nothing that excites me more than when my whole family is together. I love family dinners, family movie time and family crafts.  We had a Fun Family Craft Night to make an Easter Bunny Project, just in time for Easter.

The age range for this project was 2 to 15 and everyone enjoyed it even though it was a fairly simplistic project. My 2 year old granddaughter needed help from her Mommy, but the 6 year old was able to do the project with minimal help, mostly just making sure to hold her items long enough for the glue to set enough to hold. Of course, the older children had no problems. The 15 year old enjoyed the project just as much as the 2 year old. Continue reading “Fun Family Craft Night – Easter Bunny Project”

Movie Time

I originally wrote the post Family Movie Time for Our Blended Family as a guest post for ThatNoiseIsMine.com   Stop by and give her blog some love.

Because we are a blended family, we try to incorporate as much family time as we can because we are not all together 24/7. One of our favorite ways to spend time together is family movie time.

What we Like

We all love Disney Movies who doesn’t for family movie time? Disney Movies are perfect because they are well suited for the full range of ages in our family. From my youngest granddaughter who is 2, right on up to our son-in-law who is 22.

How to Survive Teen Pregnancy – Parenting a Child who is a Parent

Teen Pregnancy

My oldest daughter is my mini me, so like me in all ways except in one, she became a mother at 15 years old, the dreaded teen pregnancy. I had her at age 25 and even then I felt unsure of myself and very nervous thinking about taking care of someone else. At 15 years old I was no way able to take on what she did, and not only was she taking on a big change in her life, so was I. I was going to be Parenting A Child Who Is A Parent.  Continue reading “How to Survive Teen Pregnancy – Parenting a Child who is a Parent”
